Call For Papers

 

Cellulosic Industries, Societies, Formations and Manufacturing Units, with cooperation of the Bureau of Non-metallic Industries of Iran's Ministry of Industries and Mines and other related Ministries and Organizations, Universities, and Research Institutes plan to hold the second International Conference on Forest and Forest Industries on 6th thru 8th of the coming Nov. 2001. This co-apprehension is structured toward the achievement of National Objectives of Protection, Development, sylvicultural treatments, sustainable utilization of Forest and Non-Forest Resources of the country and adoption of modern technologies and innovations in wood and paper industries, quality enhancement, training and dealing with environmental issues.

Hence, all Specialists, Experts and those concerned, are cordially invited to exchange their views on the matters with the Iranian and International Experts.

The major areas of interest are:


1. Forest and Non-Forest Resources

1.1. Forests Provision of raw materials "Role of Natural Forests and Reforested" resources.

1.2. Role of Non - Forest Resources in raw materials Production.

1.3. Management of Forest Resources, Sylvicultural methods, Role of Sylvicultural treatments and improvement in restoring forests:

- Analyzing Forest degradation Factors and prevention strategies.

- Analysis and synthesizing the role of governmental, cooperative and private sectors in forest management

1.4 Forest utilization and adoption of mechanization in Forestry.

- Methods of harvesting and waste reduction.

- Identifying techno-economical problems related to mechanizing Forestry exercise.

- Requirements for industry establishment.


2. Wood conversion

2.1. Solid wood uses.

2.2. Wood-based panelboard (plywood, fiberboard, particleboard, etc.).

2.3. Modern Innovations and development (Machinery, Mechanization, Education).

2.4. Quality standards and wood products exporting.

2.5. Wood treatments and protection.

2.6. Waste Reducing methods and Improving waste uses.


3. Chemical Processing, Pulping, Papermaking

3.1. Study of potentials& the ways of supplying raw materials for pulp & paper industry including forests & non-forests wood sources, bagasse, agricultural residues and various chemicals.

3.2. Present consumption and future requirements for paper and suggestions for development on macro scale as well as investment priority in raw materials sources and pulp & paper industries.

3.3. Quality & quantity study of paper products, waste reduction techniques and the ways of improvement in pulp and paper industries.

3.4. Verification of techniques in pulping, bleaching and papermaking for Iran's pulp & paper industries including processes, equipment and automation (for existing & newly established plants).

3.5. Waste paper collection, sorting & recycling and suitable technologies for utilization of waste paper.

3.6. Productivity improvement in pulp & paper industries

- The role of management, training, equipment & technology.


4. Environmental Issues and Recycling

4.1. Waste recycling of wood & paper industries.

4.2. Study of methods of pollution control of wood & paper industries (air, noise, water).

4.3. Study of environmental problems related to wood & paper industries development.

4.4. Energy sources( fossil fuel, natural "wood, sun, wind").

4.5. Environmental and Forest exploitation relation of bio-diversity protection and wood & paper industries.

4.6. Environmental and protectional role of Forests.

4.7. Environmental evaluation of Forests in comparison to wood products.

4.8. Environmental disturbances due to distribution of Forest products (Packaging, depot).
